The Future of Esther Hall: Preserving Our Past, Building Our Future

Sometimes, time gets away from us. We put things off that need

doing. Before long the project that we figured we would get to is

so overdue that it becomes urgent.

We are at that point with Esther Hall. Our hallowed former worship home has fallen into disrepair. While we have not quite hit a crisis point, we do believe that point will arrive sooner rather than later.

At the first of the year, we formed the Esther Task Force” and charged them with coming up with a plan for our old building. This task force only has the power to make recommendations to larger church bodies.

Eventually, once the largest body of church leaders has made a recommendation, every church member will have the opportunity to speak and vote on the recommendation.

At this point we are curious about what you think the best use of our

campus is.

How can we best use our buildings to further the 155-year-old mission

and ministry of PUMC?

How does that use assure that we can continue to make disciples of

Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world?

These and other concerns and ideas can be expressed to any

committee chair, group president, or class leader. Are you on a

committee, participate in UWF, UMM, Cruisers, a Bible study or class?

Communicate with your leader. Communicate with members of the

Task Force who are Al Sargeant (chair), Cheri Hull, Susan Graham, Steve

Karstens, Rick Golhofer, and me.

While I would love to hear what you have to say — just before church

service starts (or right after it ends) is not the best times for me to be

attentive to your concerns. Instead, set up a meeting, make a phone

call (928-778-1950) or send an email (pastordan@prescottumc.com)

and you will have my full attention.

Most of all, pray for God’s spirit to guide us through this process so that

we might continue our vibrant mission for the next 155 years.

See you in church,

— Pastor Dan
